Beyond our weekly events, the KCL Politics Society runs flagship projects that showcase the very best of student journalism, broadcasting, mentorship, and political engagement. These initiatives allow our members to explore politics creatively, critically, and professionally.

The Dialogue
The Dialogue is our termly magazine analysing contemporary political and cultural issues through a broad theme. With 28 editions published and our 29th now underway, the magazine has become a cornerstone of student political commentary at King’s.

Past themes: What Gives You Power · Intersectionality · Change

Recent articles have covered: immigration and the British soundscape, the fragility of democracy, Lebanese civil society, populism, and “Kamala is Brat”.

How it works: Run by Co-Editors-in-Chief, section editors and design editors, with a growing team of social media writers.

Highlight: Each edition is launched with a celebratory event that brings writers, readers, and members together.

Podcast
Our podcast, available on Spotify and Acast, provides a platform for conversations on contemporary politics from a student perspective.

Format: 20–30 minute episodes, hosted by a rotating team plus our Podcast Manager, Saf.

Release: Twice a month.

Content: Student guests discuss experiences and perspectives, covering topics such as divisive media, protest, nuclear weapons, housing, and conspiracy theories.

Previous episodes: The prison-industrial complex, the value of oil, small island politics, and the rise of fake news.

Mentorship & Careers
Now entering its third year, our bespoke mentorship scheme connects students with over 50 mentors across politics, policy, journalism, diplomacy, and public affairs.

Mentors include: BBC and Sky journalists, Chatham House fellows, Foreign Office diplomats, and civil servants.

Career visits: To institutions such as the Henry Jackson Society, Centre for European Reform, and Wilton Park.

Careers Week: New in 2026, featuring Civil Service Fast Stream sessions, public policy panels, and parliamentary networking. Certificates will be awarded for participation.

Skills Workshops: Four annual interactive sessions on networking, public speaking, debating, and professional development.

International & Domestic Trips
Each year we organise both domestic and international trips, giving students a unique insight into politics beyond the classroom.

Past destinations: The Hague, Brussels, Edinburgh.

Upcoming: Vienna (November), including visits to the British Embassy, the UN Headquarters, the Austrian Parliament, and EU institutions.
